I'm far too much of a picky eater to ever consider myself a foodie, but trust and believe that ya girl loves to eat, and what better place to do that than at Disneyland!
I’m lucky enough to have a friend that gets free passes to Disneyland and she graciously brings me along from time to time :) Since I’m not really into rides, it’s mostly about the outfits and the food for me. And boy does the mouse deliver when it comes to satisfying my munchies. Scroll on the see what yummy delights I tried!
Gaston likes to eat raw eggs to bulk up, luckily the Red Rose tavern isn’t under his control! This Beauty & the Beast themed eatery offers lots of American fare options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They even have the “grey stuff” from the song “Be Our Guest”. I opted to try the loaded tater tots that were topped with ground beef, scallions and cheese sauce. It was obviously delicious, but the fact that the tots were perfectly fried really made it a winner, because soggy tots are the worst. I didn’t get a picture of it because I was thinking with my tummy and dove right in as soon as I sat down, but know that it looked as good as it tasted!
If you’re familiar with the Cars movies then you’ve definitely heard of the Cozy Cone, but Radiator Springs in Disneyland didn’t really need a motel so they turned the cones into food stands! Each cone serves up a different type of cone themed fare. I got the bacon Mac& cheese because, helloooooo bacon Mac & cheese! It came in a bread cone that honestly tasted better than the dish it held. I was disappointed that the macaroni and cheese wasn’t very cheesy tasting and the bacon was big, chewy chunks as opposed to little, crunchy bits. Some people might prefer it the way they make it, or I could have gotten a bad batch, either way I wouldn’t get it again because there’s just soooo many food options for me to sample.
One of the newer places in Disneyland is the port of San Fransokyo from the Big Hero 6 movie. Once I saw the menu for Lucky Fortune Cookery, I had to try it. I absolutely love Asian fusion dishes, so this place was right up my alley. I ended up getting the chicken potstickers and the beef bulgogi burrito, which were both exactly what I expected. I love it when food sounds good on paper and then you eat it and it tastes as good as it sounded. One of the sides they offer are garlic chips and OH MY GAAAWWWWDD. Those chips took me on an all expenses paid trip to flavor town! Definitely get some if the chance presents itself.
No trip to Disneyland is complete without a churro…or two…or four, which is the amount that I had. I mean, how am I supposed to resist fried dough covered in cinnamon and sugar?! I plan to branch out more on my next visits, but I had churro tunnel vision this time. I did get the chocolate chip cookies too, but those were gobbled up before I could even get my phone out to take a picture!
If you happen to find yourself at Disneyland and wanting a treat that isn’t sweet, might I suggest the popcorn. It’s salted and buttered to perfection, which is probably why I had 3 boxes of it :) What are your favorite Disneyland eats? Let me know so I can try them on my next visit!
Happy Eats!
