Disneyland Ensembles

I recently had the chance to visit Disneyland for FREEEEEEE because my friends spouse is an imagineer! Naturally I wanted to make the most out of my trip so I had a bunch of different outfit combinations and photo shoot locations planned. I managed to whittle my options down to three looks that I would wear throughout the day, so scroll on to see what I came up with!

The key to me being able to pull off multiple looks was utilizing the lockers that they have located inside the park. The lockers are available in a small and a large size, I went with the latter since the tote bag that I had was stuffed to the gills. The smaller lockers are $7 but decided to pay $10 for the extra space and it was so worth it to have the option of wardrobe changes without having to schlep around Disneyland lugging bags. So if you're the type who can't travel light, know that you'll be covered.

While this was a Disneyland day I had to bring along two of my favorite high fashion pieces, my black elastic grinder belt and my denim "Can't We All Just Hit A Bong" jacket. I always like to show off my canna pride in spaces where there will be lots of people, it's usually a conversation starter and it helps me connect with my people...stoners ;) The grinder belt is also a subtle way to show your canna pride if you're someone who doesn't love the idea of being so overt. My "hit a bong" jacket is perfect to layer a hoodie underneath on chillier days, and it adds a light layer on warmish days.

We decided to start our day on the Disneyland side so I made my first ensemble a bit of an homage to the Disney villains because sometimes it feels good to be bad. I found this "Happily Never After" shirt while perusing the Stitch Shoppe website and it stuck out to me because of it's unique design. Most of the time there's only a few villains referenced/shown in each design, but this one features nods to 9 villains! Can you name all the baddies AND the movie they're in??? I also added a fun beret studded with pearls and my Cruella DeVil crossbody purse to make my bad girl transformation complete.

Our first stop in the park was Toon Town where I got to see Minnie's house and ride the Roger Rabbit ride, where I discovered a wardrobe change I do NOT approve of. Did you know they covered up Jessica Rabbit's iconic red dress with a yellow trench coat?! Apparently they did it because she became a detective, but I'm pretty sure they're just hatin' on Jess and her bangin' body. I mean, detectives can wear whatever they want, including sexy, red sequin dresses! Other than that minor travesty, I had a good time embracing my inner baddie while roaming around the cartoony buildings and landscape that make up the Toon Town area.

The second ensemble that I put together was specifically so that I could use my Alice In Wonderland book purse that I got from Loungefly. It can be used as a backpack or a handbag, but whether it's opened or closed, it looks like a book! I'm a sucker for anything different or quirky, so this bag was right up my alley and I had to snag it up when I came across it. Not only was it cute, it also made a great prop for photos!

My Queen of Hearts outfit was totally designed and made by me, so it turned out exactly how I wanted! I was originally going to do leggings that had chevron stripes, but the time commitment was too high, so I scrapped that idea and came up with the one black leg and one yellow leg. And because I didn't want to buy anything in order to make my look, I ended up modifying a red skirt and turning it into a halter style top. I also added a heart that was half black and half yellow. The little crown headband was probably my favorite touch. I almost didn't wear it, but the girls in the bathroom hyped me up, so I decided to go with it. Let's be honest, if I'm not gonna wear it at Disneyland, then where am I gonna wear it?! It really did tie the whole outfit together, so I'm glad I wore it.

We had park hopper tickets, so we planned to be at both Disneyland and California Adventure. I wanted to make sure that I had at least one Pixar character because I loves me some Pixar flicks. I had hoped to get the Filmore skirt I was working on finished in time for our visit, but it didn't work out. Instead I decided to go with my backup which was Boo from Monster's Inc. I always loved the relationship she formed with Sulley, and she was just a cute lil cartoon kiddo. I also have a purse that looks like the outside of Boo's bedroom door that they feature in the movie. It was another one of my Loungefly purchases that I really adore because of it's cute Mike and Sulley detail on the inside flap and it has a sneaky Randell on the back side. I also took the opportunity to use my daughters hair ties to give myself two mini poofs since Boo had pigtails.

So what do we think of my looks this time around? Did I nail it or would you make changes? Let me know what you think and what characters I should do the next time I go.

Happy Styling!
